- Intended as a diluent/solvent for reconstituting medications - not for direct injection on its own
- No benzyl alcohol or other preservative; once entered, discard any unused portion (nothing inhibits microbial growth)
- Differs from Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, which contains a preservative and allows multiple withdrawals
