Selecting the Right Pharmacy for Your Pet's Medications

 

In Ontario, pet medications dispensed without a valid veterinary prescription are subject to the same regulations as human medications. A valid prescription from a licensed Ontario veterinarian is required for all prescription pet medications. We work directly with your veterinarian to ensure your pet receives safe, appropriate medications.

 

How to Order Prescription Medications for Your Pet

 

Step 1: Obtain a prescription from your licensed veterinarian. Your vet can write a paper prescription or send it to us directly.

Step 2: Contact us at 613-824-3111 or bring the prescription to our pharmacy in person.

Step 3: We will dispense and prepare the medication. We will contact you when it is ready for pickup or arrange delivery.

 

Prescription Dog Medications

 

We carry a comprehensive inventory of prescription medications for dogs including antibiotics, anti-parasitics, pain medications, cardiac medications, thyroid medications, anti-seizure medications, hormonal treatments, and more. Prices are updated regularly and confirmed at time of order.

 

Prescription Cat Medications

 

We stock prescription medications for cats including antibiotics, anti-virals, anti-fungals, thyroid medications, pain management, cardiac support, urinary tract treatments, and behavioural medications.

 

Veterinary Compounding

 

When commercial pet medications are not available in the right strength, dosage form, or flavor, we can compound custom formulations:

 

Flavored Liquid Suspensions: Medications in chicken, beef, fish, or other flavors to make administration easy and stress-free.

Transdermal Ear Gels: Ideal for cats — medications applied to the inner ear flap for easy absorption without the struggle of oral dosing.

Custom Strength Capsules: Precise doses for small dogs, cats, and exotic animals where commercial tablet sizes are inappropriate.

Chewable Treats: Some medications can be formulated into palatable chewable treats.

We also carry a wide range of health supplements for dogs and cats including joint support (glucosamine/chondroitin), omega-3 fatty acids, probiotics, dental health products, and more.

 

Ontario Veterinary Prescription Requirements

 

Under Ontario regulations, a valid prescription from a licensed Ontario veterinarian is required for all prescription medications. The prescription must include: the animal owner's name and address, the patient animal's name and species, the date, the drug name and strength, the directions for use, the prescribing veterinarian's name, address, and license number, and the number of authorized refills.

 

We cannot dispense prescription medications without a valid prescription. We do not accept prescriptions from veterinarians licensed outside of Ontario.
