Travel Health Consultations and Vaccinations in Orleans

 

Protect your health before your next adventure. Our pharmacists are certified to provide comprehensive travel health services including pre-travel consultations, destination-specific vaccine recommendations, and travel health prescriptions.

 

Pre-Travel Consultation

 

Our travel health consultations include a full assessment of your travel itinerary, destination-specific disease risks, recommended vaccinations, medication prescriptions (including anti-malarials), and a customized travel health kit. We recommend booking your consultation at least 4-6 weeks before departure.

 

Travel Vaccines Available

 

We administer the following travel vaccines:

 

Yellow Fever (Designated Centre): Required for travel to many countries in Africa and South America. Our pharmacy is a Yellow Fever Designated Centre.

Typhoid Fever: Recommended for travel to regions with poor sanitation.

Hepatitis A: Highly recommended for most international travel.

Hepatitis B: Recommended for extended travel or medical procedures abroad.

Meningococcal: Required for Hajj/Umrah and recommended for sub-Saharan Africa.

Japanese Encephalitis: Recommended for rural Asia travel.

Rabies Pre-Exposure: Recommended for adventure travel and extended stays.

Cholera/Traveller's Diarrhea: Dukoral oral vaccine available.

 

Routine Immunizations

 

We also administer all routine Ontario immunizations:

 

Influenza (Flu Shot): Free for all Ontarians aged 6 months and older.

COVID-19: Updated formulations available.

Shingles (Shingrix): Two-dose series for adults 50 and over.

Pneumococcal (Prevnar 20): For adults 65+ and high-risk individuals.

HPV (Gardasil 9): For individuals up to age 45.

TDAP (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis): Booster recommended every 10 years.

MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): For unvaccinated adults.

Hepatitis B (for adults): Three-dose series.

 

Anti-Malarial Prescriptions

 

Our pharmacists can prescribe anti-malarial medications for travel to malaria-endemic regions, including Atovaquone-Proguanil (Malarone), Doxycycline, and Chloroquine.

Your travel itinerary (dates, destinations, planned activities)

Your immunization record or yellow card (if available)

A list of your current medications
