The reduced upper height makes the boot less restrictive around the carpus and tarsus, which many dogs find more tolerable for wear periods during cage rest and indoor recovery periods.

Constructed with the same rigid non-slip sole and secure closure system as the standard boot, the Short Protection Boot is appropriate for light paw protection, indoor dressing coverage, and post-surgical management where full-height boot coverage is not required. Available in Medium and Large to suit medium and large breed dogs.

When to Choose Short vs Standard

Choose the Short Protection Boot for: indoor convalescence and cage rest, dressings on the paw that do not extend up the limb, post-surgical paw dressings with low exudate, and dogs that have shown discomfort with full-height boots. Choose the standard Protection Boot for: outdoor activity during recovery, wet conditions, and dressings that extend to the lower leg.
