Dermburo is a topical solution USP (a modified Burow's solution) for the temporary relief of minor skin irritations or rashes (contact dermatitis) - including those caused by eczema, poison ivy, insect bites, athlete's foot, and contact with soaps, detergents, cosmetics, or jewelry. 12 x 3 g sachets.

Ingredients (per sachet): 1,282 mg (43%) aluminum sulfate tetradecahydrate USP and 905 mg (30%) calcium acetate monohydrate USP (both astringents). When combined in 450 ml of water these form the active ingredient aluminum acetate (0.16% w/v per sachet). Non-medicinal ingredient: dextrin.

Dosage: dissolve the contents of 1 to 3 sachets in 450 ml of cool or lukewarm water and stir until maximum dissolution (do not strain or filter). The resulting modified Burow's solution contains 0.16% (1 sachet), 0.32% (2 sachets), or 0.48% w/v (3 sachets) aluminum acetate.

Application: as a soak, soak the affected area for 15-30 minutes as needed, up to 3 times a day. As a compress or wet dressing, soak a clean soft cloth in the solution, wring lightly, apply loosely, and keep wet for 15-30 minutes. Discard the solution after each use.

Warnings: For external use only. Keep unmixed powder away from the face to avoid inhalation. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes; if contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Do not cover a wet dressing with plastic. Soaking too long may overdry in some conditions. Stop use and ask a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or last more than seven days. Pregnant or lactating women should consult a health care practitioner before use. Keep out of reach of children. If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Centre right away.
