Aventi Kidney Complete is a comprehensive nutritional kidney support supplement for dogs and cats, designed to address the major metabolic consequences of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in a single powder. Registered with Health Canada as a Veterinary Health Product, it suits all stages of CKD.
The formula works on five fronts. Phosphate binders (calcium carbonate 156 mg, calcium lactate gluconate 96 mg, and chitosan 48 mg per 0.6 g scoop) reduce excess phosphorus, a primary driver of CKD progression. Sodium bicarbonate (36 mg) buffers metabolic acidosis, following IRIS guidelines. FOS prebiotic (120 mg) with Lactobacillus acidophilus (180 million CFU) and L. plantarum (60 million CFU) help metabolize uremic toxins in the gut. B vitamins (B6, B9, B12) and Vitamin C (30 mg) support red blood cell production to address CKD-related anemia, while chitosan, Vitamin C, and olive oil extract (12 mg) provide antioxidant protection.
Dosing (daily, mixed into food): small scoop (0.6 g) per 2.5 kg body weight, or large scoop (2.4 g) per 10 kg. For example, a 5 kg cat takes 2 small scoops; a 20 kg dog takes 2 large scoops. Available in 90 g and 300 g jars with both scoops included. Complements prescription kidney diets; CKD generally requires long-term management.
