MedsCheck: your free medication review
MedsCheck is a provincial program funded by the Ontario government that gives eligible patients a free, private, one-on-one medication review with one of our licensed pharmacists. It helps you understand your medications better and catches issues like drug interactions, side effects, or therapies you may no longer need.
The review is free, takes 20–30 minutes, and can be done in person or over the phone — funded by OHIP once per year.
Who qualifies for MedsCheck?
- You are an Ontario resident with a valid OHIP card
- You currently take 3 or more chronic prescription medications
- The program is funded once per year — at no cost to you
What happens during your MedsCheck?
1 · Full reviewYour pharmacist goes through all your prescription and non-prescription medications, vitamins, and supplements — what each one is for, and how and when to take it.
2 · Safety checkWe look for interactions between your medications, side effects to watch for, and anything that may no longer be necessary.
3 · Your planYou leave with a personalized medication record and a summary of any recommendations.
What to bring
- All prescription medications (or bring the bottles)
- All over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and supplements you take
- Your Ontario health card (OHIP card)
- Your drug benefit card (if applicable)
- A list of any allergies or adverse reactions to medications
