Selecting the right pharmacy for your pet's medication
At Orleans Community Pharmacy, we understand the importance of choosing the right pharmacy for your pet's medications. In Ontario, you have the right to request a written prescription from your veterinarian, which can be filled at the pharmacy of your choice.
No vet? Virtual care is an option
If you don't currently have a veterinarian or if your veterinarian is unable to provide a prescription, virtual veterinary consultation services are available through telemedicine providers such as Vetster, Telus Health MyPet, MetaVet, and SmartVet.

- $13.99 dispensing fee per prescription · $25.00 order fee per order
- We do not break down bottles — medications are dispensed in full bottle quantities only
College of Veterinarians' guidelines
- A veterinarian must comply with requests for prescriptions, which should be directed to Ontario pharmacists only, not internet pharmacies
- They may charge a reasonable fee for the prescription
- It's the client's responsibility to fill the prescription as they see fit, including out-of-province options
